5 out of 5 stars A great new resource   April 25, 2010
MC (London, England)
I bought this book because I saw a friend's copy and realised it would be a real asset to my resources as a learning support teacher. Lots of new ideas to entertain and instruct - am very pleased to have found out about it.

4 out of 5 stars Great ideas and good value   April 14, 2010

The ideas are good starting points or can be extended into larger "lessons". Some activities are suitable for younger/less able children and many can be used repeatedly with small adjustments as children's understanding increase/they get older. This book is great value for money especially in comparison to some bigger publishers' lteracy books. I would recommend it to teachers and home educators of primary aged children and it would still be useful as activities for older children too.

Great aid for teaching literacy at Keystage 2. Full of ideal starters for whole class lessons or one-to-one tutoring. Full of useful ideas. Jumpstart!: Literacy - Games and Activities for Ages 7-14

Pie Corbett has put together a super book here packed with ideas on geting your literacy lessons started. Some we all know but it's good to be reminded and lots are new and exciting. Great ideas for starting Talk for Writing, these ideas really have made my Y4 class class more excited and keen to learn in Literacy!
The book is also really easy to dip in and out of easily!
