Truly inspirational... September 8, 2010 Pepo This book is truly inspirational.. Some books you read and forget about, but not this one.. An incredible story about a self-less man who dedicates his life to others, namely children of Pakistan who otherwise would not get the opportunity to the education they deserve..
This is an Awe Inspiring Book September 5, 2010 Taz This really is an awesome book, one of the best books I've ever read in fact!
If you enjoy this book, I recommend the sequel, stones into schools. Enjoy!
Bravery and naivity September 5, 2010 Lydia Everitt (UK) This was a wonderful insight into the the life of a man who was driven to just do the right thing because it needed doing. And it cuts across the ridiculous barriers of race and creed the western world has put up.
Amazing, engaging and a real eye opener! September 5, 2010 BeeBop An amazingly inspirational story! Mortenson proves that anyone anywhere can make a huge difference if they try. I couldn't put it down, not only are we told about his incredible story but Mortenson also gives us an insight into a culture that is so often misunderstood in the west. As a teacher I feel that reading this book has been lifechanging for me and has definately spurred me on to go off and try and put my stamp where it's needed. Thank you Greg Mortenson for all your amazing work, and for sharing your story! Well written, informative and the sort of book you'd want to re-read. I've just started reading his second book Stones Into Schools which is proving to be equally fantastic. A must read!
