 Good Book with careful use June 2, 2010
This book is brilliant and it sticks pretty much to the specification however in some parts it goes into too much detail and in some parts too little when using this book to study for A-levels use it along side the specification to ensure you are learning it to how the examiners want you to and to make sure you are using the right wording, by doing this the book is brilliant and can help you to get top marks in Exams

This is a very well layed out book with all the relevent information you need to know for your AS biology and at the same time being relatively easy to understand with some decent pictures to back it up.
I does sometimes go into a lot more detail than it should, but still, this book along with the CGP revision guide helped me much more than my teachers did...
But I think that CGP just edges it on my preference.

I bought this under recommendation as I had just embarked on AS Biology Distance learning. Compared to the black and white rather wordy material from the distance learning provider, this was a breath of fresh air with colour illustrations and lists and tables. The only down side is the AQA exam style questions are little use without the answers and you have to pay to join online to view the answers. However on the AQA website there are past exam papers and answers, so you can access other questions.
