5 out of 5 stars Excellent resource   July 30, 2010

The book comes with a cd. Basically the cd is a computer version of the book but with a difference! You can highlight text whilst viewing it as a pdf file on your pc and write notes. The book itself is colourful and interesting to read. It is really unfortunate that the college gets students to purchase their own textbooks these days: in the UK there is no longer universal free education - so it matters to me a lot that I purchase textbooks which are value for money. This one certainly is.

this textbook is amazing, it has well written explanation of how to carry out a typical question, step by step, assuring knowledge in each one. This book was used as the main reference point for Maths A-Levels and is better than any other maths a levels books out there. i'm sure a beginner can pick up the mathematical concepts really well, by following the book!

5 out of 5 stars Practice Makes Perfect   January 20, 2010

This book is intended to help the reader prepare for the core maths exam. It comes with a CD-ROM is case you get stuck on some of the questions - the CD-ROM sets out the solution/answer (in a "Solutionbank"). The book recognises that constant practice at answering questions embeds the relevant principles or formulae in the reader's (or doer's) mind and gets the reader to think in the right way, so to speak. Some of the questions require little more than a straightforward application of relevant formulae; but as you progress through the questions, they become harder - you have to think about the information you are given and adapt relevant data to an appropriate formula. The book is well-structured, concise and clear.

Great books for my son. They all come with a CD that contains example papers & answers which is the most useful part.
